Head-impulse and related vestibular examinations can depend on sustained visual attention. That is difficult to ask of a young child in an unfamiliar examination.

Star Stare turns the fixation target into a playful task. The child watches the on-screen character while the clinician carries out the examination. The game’s role is engagement during the task, not making a diagnosis on its own.
